The organisation

This client was established in Amsterdam in the 50’s as a commodity trading operation. Today they are engaged in the production of food ingredients and the processing, distribution and the trading of a variety of agricultural products. The business unit of this position is food and more specifically chocolate and cacao. The organisation forms an international and corporate environment in which the E-Commerce Manager takes part in a core team with a Digital Marketeer and an E-commerce Customer Engagement Specialist.

E-Commerce Manager, what does this job include?

As the E-Commerce Manager you manage the chocolate e-Commerce platform & shop in the broadest sense. This includes being responsible for a good working e-Commerce process and creating a professional image towards our customers with professional chocolate artisans like Chefs, Chocolatiers, Patissiers, Bakers. You define and prioritize the efforts of the digital team, collaborate with the external development team and scrum master to improve the customer journey, and you are responsible for all end-to-end processes related to e-Commerce. You make sure all is handled and actions are executed and outsourced to the right agency or even tackled internally.

  • Overall you are responsible for the sales via the e-Commerce channel and associated cost i.e. profit and loss related to this channel.
  • You are responsible for managing the product roadmap, maintaining product backlog and the execution process with an external agency, in which tracking and reporting are required.
  • You are responsible for merchandising, making sure that the shop is working and generating the planned sale.

The requirements

The E-Commerce Manager we are looking for in this vacancy is in the possession of:

  • Higher Education (Master/Bachelor degree).
  • 4-5 years experience in B2B e-Commerce.
  • Strong skills in internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Experience with agile working/SCRUM.
