Will you set and drive the execution of the international omnichannel marketing strategy? We are looking for a Chief Marketing Officer to transform the marketing organization, centralized under the CMO realm, setup direct to consumer marketing, and create a consumer focused and customer journey oriented organization.


JumboDiset develops, manufactures and sells games, puzzles and toys.  JumboDiset was formed two years ago after the merger of Royal Jumbo (headoffice in Zaandam) and Diset (headoffice in Barcelona). Today, JumboDiset operates out of these two main offices, and out of sales offices in France, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. 

Over the last 2 years, Royal Jumbo Group and Diset have merged into one organization. This process is now in the final phase of building one international organization. Going forward, the next step for JumboDiset is a cultural change, moving away from product orientation into more customer orientation, as well as a digital transformation. Product innovation, introducing and integration new brand lines and digitalization across all facets of the organization are all key themes. Key task is to set and create one new unified organization. As such, JumboDiset would like to attract a new CMO who will play an instrumental role in making this happen.

Job Description

Currently the marketing function is partially centralized (product marketing) and partially decentrally organized in the different country organizations (marcoms). Current focus is primarily on channel marketing towards the retail network. The CMO defines, oversees and drives the execution of JumboDiset’s omnichannel marketing strategy. This strategy focuses on moving from the current set up of more traditional marketing, to powering JumboDiset’s reach and business impact by helping it to become ‘’user centric’ and and creating the appurtenant culture.

The CMO will play a leadership role on planning, execution, and optimization of the omnichannel marketing strategy. He/she influences change in the way the organization moves into the future, using digital technology and digital; marketing to best serve its customers. With the change comes a shift in mindset, and the CMO must make sure to bring all stakeholders on board and imbed a strong digital strategy into the organization’s culture.

Reporting directly to the CEO, and being part of the MT of the organization, goals & responsibilities for this role include:

  • Set the new digital marketing vision and strategy and apply expertise in digital technologies to ensure that JumboDiset’s digital & omnichannel strategy is embedded in the organization;
  • Set the brand strategy for the different brand categories, and build the associated brands and positionings (8-10 brand lines), both online and offline;
  • Develop new digital engagements that are user-centric and offer a internationally consistent customer experience; develop a deep understanding of customer’s needs, drivers and challenges;
  • Create and set online category management and, in the longer term, an e-commerce proposition;
  • Build the (digital) marketing team, both from marketeers currently present in the organization, as well as attracting the right talent from outside (appr. 10-15 FTE);
  • Create a strong Employee Value Proposition to attract the right kind of multidisciplinary professionals to the team and create conditions to succeed by empowering the team;
  • Create a culture associated with a consumer focused and customer journey oriented organization.

You bring a track record in transforming marketing organizations, and a feeling for trends and developments in consumer markets. You bring a humble personality, are amenable and operate as part of the team. Your are someone who challenges the status quo with a creative, out-of-the box thinking and excellent communication skills. You are comfortable with executive presence. In your previous multinational experience you have grown, trained, and managed a high-performing team. Specific requirements for this role include:

  • Academic degree with 10+ years work experience including management responsibility of multiple teams;
  • Experience in international organizations in a B2C and B2B environments;
  • Proven track record of setting up customer centric marketing & brand management strategies;
  • Having defined and implemented marketing strategies to stay ahead of the competition and stay innovative in the market; experience in transforming marketing organizations;
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing solutions along with proven experience in delivering innovative solutions from visioning to execution;
  • People leadership, strategic thinking and a proven track record of driving results to enable business success ;
  • Multinational people management experience, including managing people in remote locations;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders;
  • A hands-on, team player who can deal with a lot of freedom and give the team, space to create innovative frameworks so that results are achieved.
